Hillcrest Lions Club – Benefiting our Community

Hillcrest Lions Club Charter

Founded in 1933

We Serve

Since 1933 the Hillcrest Lions Club has been serving our community by providing financial support for causes that help the blind and visually impaired.  Since as recently as 2015, we raise over $12,000 for blind and visually impaired persons of San Diego.

We Give 100 Percent

We cover all cost from our own membership dues, ensuring that all donated funds go to the causes we support.  Transparency and accountability operate at every level; in fact, none of our club members are paid for their services and all time spent operating our club is volunteer driven.

We’re Open

We are kind and generous people who want to help.  We welcome anyone to our club who is the same.

We are dedicated to sight – and more

Since Helen Keller in 1925 challenged the Lions to be “knights of the blind in this crusade against darkness,” Lions clubs around the world have fulfilled the mission of addressing vision health and promoting research for solutions to vision disease.  Today, Lions clubs work on global initiatives for youth, health, disaster relief and others that affect local communities everywhere.  Part of our club dues help the international Lion’s achieve their mission.

Lions Live

When you join Lions, you join a global service network.  So at the same time you’re helping your own community locally, you can also contribute to Lions community efforts in other countries.  A Lion never wonders, “What can one person do?”
